We the believers....

We, as Christians, choose to live more like Christ every day. Each and every choice we make, whether big or small, helps us get closer to our goal of living as much like Christ as we can. Romans 12:2, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (King James Version) By not conforming, we are proving to ourselves and others, what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. How do we not conform? We choose to do the opposite of what the world thinks is good and acceptable, we choose to do what God thinks is good and acceptable. Every day is a battle, because we will be, and probably have been scorned by many people for choosing not to lie, gossip, swear, drink, do drugs, and many others. The world's point of view, will most often, disagree with God's. It is a constant struggle, but our efforts will be rewarded. For the things we do that please God, no matter how small, He sees them, and they will not be forgotten. So the next time you get scorned for choosing not to follow the world's ways, know that God sees you and is with you in your struggles. Deuteronomy 31:6, Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (King James Version) How comforting it is to know that no matter what you do, He will always be there for you.

You are most welcome! :)

That is an excellent post, Blondy! Well done. I hope others will come and pick up a discussion on this. It is so central to the Christian life.

Awesome verses too, by the way! I really needed to read that one from Deuteronomy. ^_^

It can be really difficult sometimes not to fall into the ways of the world because of all the peer pressure and ill treatment and scorn (as you said) that is brought to bear on us by those who walk in the world's ways. Also, those ways can appeal to the flesh and selfishness which is a part of our fallen nature. There are so many things that come against us to try to force us into living as the world does and in opposition to what God wants! We must stay strong and walk the "straight and narrow" with God's help and strength! :D

Thanks again for posting this!
